We aim to provide for our patients the highest standard of medical, nursing and paramedical care. All our staff are here to offer a number of services for your comfort and care. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you should need any assistance. The following information is specially prepared to acquaint you with our facilities and procedure.
Appointment For Specialist Outpatient Clinic Consultation
To make an appointment for your first consultation at Gynaecological Oncology unit, Queen Mary Hospital, you can present your referral letter at S Block 5th Floor.On your Appointment Day
If you are unable to keep the appointment given to you, please call the clinic to reschedule your appointment. (Tel: 2855-4182)
If this is your first appointment, please bring along the following documents:
- Hong Kong ID Card
- Referral letter from your family doctor
- Medical and pathology reports
- X-Ray Films
- Current Medication
Please make your payment before consultation at the account office at S BLOCK, 1 ST Floor and proceed to the clinic reception (S Block, 5 th Floor) for registration. Please take a seat while you wait for your turn.
Appointment For Admission
Except for emergency cases, appointments for admission to the Queen Mary Hospital are made during your visit to our Specialist Outpatient Department or via special arrangement with out Specialist.
What To Bring Along To The Hospital
- Documents for Admission Registration
- Admission Slip.
- Hong Kong ID Card.
- Referral Letter, medical and pathology reports, X-Ray films, medications
- Personal Items
- Slippers and toiletries
- Valuables
- Please do not bring along excessive cash or other valuables
On Day of Admission
Please arrive on time for the admission appointment. On your arrival please proceed to the Admission Office at A Block G/F, for registration.
At the ward (K Block, 13thFloor, South Wing)
Queen Mary Hospital is a Teaching Hospital. When you are admitted, you will be looked after by a team of doctors comprising of Gynaecology oncologists and assisted by Medical Officers and House Officers. The team members will develop and carry out the necessary investigations and a treatment plan aimed at giving you the results that brought you here. We will explain your treatment options, answer your questions and refer you to necessary resources and support program for information and support. The multidisciplinary team approach will do everything we can to keep you informed, confident and comfortable during your treatment. As it is a frightening event to learn you have cancer, we are here to help you through the process of learning about your disease and your treatment.
Our oncology nurses will care for you and develop the nursing care plan that tailored according to your needs. We also help manage clinical trials and educate patients about what to expect during hospitalization and when they go home from the hospital. They also communicate with family members to address their needs and concerns. For some patients, the psychological effects of cancer can be overwhelming, our nurses and social workers also help to ensure that patients get emotional support as well as assistance with daily needs.
Visiting Hours
Visiting hours are from 12noon to 1pm and 6pm to 8pm . Generally not more than two visitors at any one time.
Discharge
- When your doctor certifies you fit for discharge, please make arrangements with your family for you to go home.
- You will be advised on your next outpatient appointment or admission date.
- If medication is required, a prescription will be given.
- Please ask for sick leave certificate if it is required,
- All private films or reports will be returned to you after use.
